DAVID BROWN

Lead podiatrist

BSc (HONS) MRCPOD

David played professional football for 17 years, before retiring at 33 and beginning his second career. He studied Podiatry at The University of Salford in 2012, receiving extensive training in the NHS, and went on to set up David Brown Podiatry in 2015. He began his private practice within the Bridgeman Centre Physiotherapy Centre, and expanded when he took over a second clinic in The Royal Arcade. After 3 years running two clinics, they were merged into one location into a building on Mesnes Street that had stood empty for 10 years. The building was renovated and has a downstairs clinic for routine treatments and on the first floor there is a dedicated sports podiatry/gait analysis suite. David offers a wide range of podiatry services - routine foot care, specialist treatments such as nail surgery, gait analysis, and is able to manufacture bespoke orthotic insoles.

David enjoys learning and regularly attends courses with some of the world’s leading podiatrists to further his knowledge in biomechanics and lower limb injuries. David uses his sporting experience and podiatric knowledge to offer patients the best possible care using high quality equipment and products. David is a Phits™ certified podiatrist and uses Footscan® technology to analyse the biomechanics of your feet during a gait assessment. The results are used to design and make bespoke 3D printed Phits™ orthotics. He also uses Shockwave Therapy and K-Laser to treat foot and lower limb pain and other issues.

He left school at 16 and spent 3 and a half years under Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, then went on to play for Hull City, Chester City, Hereford United, Accrington Stanley, Forest Green Rovers and Wrexham playing almost 500 games and scoring over 100 goals. David worked hard during his career to educate himself and gained a degree in Sports Science in 2005 and has gained his UEFA coaching qualifications and is often involved in scouting for players and teams. David lives in Wigan with his wife Sarah and their four daughters Emily, Hannah, Sophie and Lauren and cocker spaniel Phoebe. He enjoys being outdoors, staying active, promoting healthy lifestyles and Making Movement Better.

Dean Ritchie

Podiatrist

BSc (HONS) MRCPOD

Dean is a warm and friendly podiatrist who graduated with first-class honours from the University of Salford and brings over ten years of experience from the health and social care sector into his podiatry practice. His approach is built around kindness, communication, and making sure every patient feels heard.

He has a particular interest in skin and nail health, helping patients with issues such as thickened nails, fungal infections, painful hard skin, corns, and other foot concerns that can affect comfort and confidence. Dean believes podiatry should never feel daunting, and he takes time to explain treatments clearly so patients feel involved and at ease.

Dean continues to develop his skills within private practice, with a focus on effective, evidence-based care for everyday foot problems. He is known for taking a gentle, practical approach, always aiming for results that improve both comfort and quality of life.

When he’s not in clinic, Dean enjoys music, photography, and long walks, and loves spending time relaxing with friends and significant others where a good film, tv series or live music night is always a welcome bonus.

Weronika Majchrzak

Podiatry Apprentice

Weronika recently joined the practice as a podiatry apprentice and is excited to begin this new chapter in her healthcare career. After spending four years as a dental nurse, she wanted to broaden her scope within patient care and pursue a more hands on, varied role which led her to podiatry. Although still in the early stages of her training, Weronika is eager to build her knowledge and skills, and she is thoroughly enjoying learning from the experienced team at the practice.

She is almost qualified as Foot Health Practioner and will be offering routine podiatry services early in 2026.

Always up for a challenge, Weronika has recently taken up karate and started learning to play the ukulele. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her family and spending time outdoors. Her goal is to qualify as a podiatrist and continue developing her skills through further courses and lifelong learning.
